MSE academics secure large events
News — By Jennifer Thomas on December 17, 2011 3:16 pmRod Tucker, Director of IBES and Laureate Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Melbourne, and David Wood, Honorary Professor Emeritus of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering have been honoured by Club Melbourne for securing major international business events in 2011.
Professor Tucker has secured the Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference to be held in 2014 and Professor Wood, the AFMC International Medicinal Chemistry Symposium to be held in 2017. They were awarded by the Club Melbourne Ambassador Program at an event hosted by the Minister for Tourism and Events, Louise Asher.
In 2012, past awardee, Cliff Ogleby will host the 2012 XXII Congress for the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, to be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre from August 25 – September 1, 2012. The theme for the Congress will be ‘Imaging a Sustainable Future’.
